DOX:EXCHANGE: Facilitating Democratic Dialogue Through Documentary Film

About the Project

Northern Lights (Belarus), CinéDOC Tbilisi (Georgia), and CPH:DOX (Denmark), collectively endorse the belief that collaboration across borders is essential for the future. This shared commitment has led to the creation of ‘DOX:EXCHANGE,’ an initiative focused on the exchange of documentary films.

Through workshops, screenings, mentoring, and film dissemination, the project aims to establish a dedicated space for filmmakers, producers, and films to freely exchange ideas, business strategies, and foster enduring partnerships across their respective regions.

The primary focuses are engaging youth and children with documentaries, exchanging knowledge between documentary film organisations, and creating a platform to circulate films to wider audiences, aiming to increase awareness and understanding. These objectives will be achieved through in-person sessions and film curation on two distinct platforms.

The overarching objective is to have films bring untold stories, fresh perspectives, and innovative ideas to the global documentary stage, actively contributing to the ongoing dialogue on democracy and shared ideas.

DOX: Exchange is conceived as an annual programme featuring different cohorts each year engaging in various activities. It serves as a mechanism to build a community of alumni who can mutually support one another, potentially forming robust connections that lead to lasting business partnerships.
